If time was an answer, then time wouldn't slay
the beauty of godless Earth to decay.
Rat by the neck, still spreading it's seed
a plague of despair and breeding disease.
This blooming disaster that pains us to breathe
where spirits get eaten by seeding belief
an infinite snowfall shadows our needs
slow winter death bring softly to me
In these dark winter days, we've lost our way.
These dark winter nights, where pain never fades.
Beneath all the damming worship you sing
rats carry blood on their sharp, grinning teeth.
We look to the sun but in sewers they crawl,
tongues stretching out to devour us all.
In these dark winter days, we've lost our way
These dark winter nights, where pain never fades.
In these dark winter days, we've lost our way
These dark winter nights, where pain never fades.

Excellent medieval folk, IGR, & those with ears to hear. I love the sense of mysticism and deep, introspective ponder this album conveys, & the honest down-to-earth folky lyrics. Simply wonderful yet soulfully rich. Highlights for me are tracks 2, 5, 6, & 12. IGR truly capture what I feel is an authentic sense of a medieval bard at a woodland rill pondering the mysteries of life. Highly recommended. 8.5+/10. Alrihkh
Stark, folk-derived songs built on brittle acoustic guitars that conjure the image of a fire burning in the distance on a dark night. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 8, 2022
It’s easy to get lost inside the rippling synths and electronic textures on the latest from Aisle Knot, a feast for the ears. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 8, 2021
The Brooklyn group Aisle Knot writes hushed, mysterious songs that are charmingly rickety and grounded in surefooted melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable May 22, 2021
